After Hours Veterinary Centre
The After Hours Vet in town operates whenever we are closed. Any patients who require intensive care outside of our operating hours are transferred to After Hours when we close, and return to us the following morning. We send all medications, fluids, medical notes and treatment plans with your pet for a seamless transition of care between our team and theirs. Our hospital receives your pet’s record the following morning from the After Hours team, for updating to our record system, so we know what procedure or treatment your pet has received.

Veterinary rehabilitation involves the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Principles from human physiotherapy are used that have been adapted to suit our furry friends.

We frequently refer patients with complex eye issues to Dr Steve Heap at McMaster & Heap, as the South Island’s only Veterinary Eye Consultant. They are able to provide specialist diagnostics, treatment plans and surgeries.
Dr Richard Lucy is available for imaging second opinions and referrals, including ultrasound, echocardiography, ECG interpretation, radiography, endoscopy, as well as interventional radiology, biopsies and liver surgeries.

The VSA team in Christchurch has a team of specialist surgeons able to perform complex surgeries across a number of disciplines including, but not limited to, orthopaedics, neurology, oncology, urinary and soft tissue surgeries.
